摘要

Synaptic loss has been cited as an early pathological event and major structural correlate of cognitive impairment in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). However, this observation is based on limited neuropathological studies. Here, we examined the in vivo relationship between synaptic density and cognitive performance in early AD using [11C]UCB-J PET and an extensive neuropsychological battery.
