摘要

•Quinoxaline based organometallic Re(I) carbonyls were synthesized and characterized.•The compounds were screened for biomolecular interactions and medicinal activities.•The compounds are more cytotoxic compared to standard anticancer drugs.•The compounds can be used as a prototype for novel chemotherapeutic agents.
