Abstract
•Active CDP was isolated and purified from Cistanche deserticola.•An osteoporosis mouse model was successfully constructed through ovariectomy.•CDP can effectively inhibit osteoclast formation and OVX-induced bone loss.•CDP is a potentially safe and effective drug for the treatment of osteoporosis.
