Clay content prediction using spectra data collected from the ground to space platforms in a smallholder tropical area

•We used three different satellite multi-temporal bare soil images.•Clay prediction models were generated from five different sensors data.•Best prediction models were fitted using hyperspectral and ultraspectral data.•Regional clay prediction models were applied in study area data.•Only the ultraspectral regional model obtained a good prediction result.
