摘要
Monitoring vascular function at the onset of live in vivo renal ischemia-reperfusion injury. Background: Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) is a complex disorder that can be detrimental and is associated with high mortality rates. A primary cause of AKI is renal ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) which rapidly diminishes renal function. Proximal tubular epithelial (PT) cells are at the forefront of the pathogenesis of AKI. Depending on the severity and the time under ischemia, the kidney can recover. Typically, these events have been investigated in vitro and thus there is a limited understanding of the pathophysiology associated with IRI.
