摘要
Hyperkalaemia (HK) is a potentially fatal condition often seen in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and is associated with a higher risk of cardiovascular events and mortality. Traditional potassium (K+) binders used to treat HK are poorly tolerated by patients and associated with gastrointestinal side effects. Recently approved K+ binders can provide new treatment options which are more palatable and better tolerated to fulfil this unmet need.
