Influence of thermal and optical criteria of spectral fluid filters for hybrid concentrated photovoltaic/thermal systems

•The thermal-optical selection criteria of liquid absorptive filters were examined for usability in the hybrid CPV/T systems.•The presented electrical-modelling of GaAs cell was validated and well developed in the CFD domain.•Both the thermal conductivity and heat capacity of liquid-filter drastically affect the thermal and electrical.•The ideality of optical performance of liquid filter depends primarily upon the desired form of energy.
