Thermal performance of a R600a two-phase loop thermosiphon in rotational shaft
HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER(2021)
摘要
An implementation of a cooling structure using Two-Phase Loop Thermosiphons (TPLTs) to cool the shaft in a motorized spindle was developed and tested. For this purpose, a shaft with a cooling structure based on TPLTs was designed and tested at rotational speeds of 1000–2000 rpm and a heating power of 50–250 W. Subsequently, the temperature field distribution of a motorized spindle with TPLTs cooling structure was calculated. The results showed that the rise in temperature of the shaft with rotational TPLTs reduced by 60% to 64% and the time required to achieve thermal equilibrium reduced by 18 to 23%. The heat transfer performance of the rotational TPLTs increased with increasing rotational speed. In addition, the liquid fill ratio corresponding to the minimum thermal resistance at the same heat input tended to decrease with increasing rotational speeds. This TPLTs shaft cooling structure could cool the main components of a motorized spindle and reduce the rise in their temperature.
