Transport numbers in the basic 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloroaluminate ionic liquid

摘要
•A modified Hittorf method was used to determine ion transport numbers.•The transport numbers of cations don’t change from mole fraction of AlCl3.•AlCl4– and Cl– have similar mobility in the investigated ionic liquids.•The transport numbers of [EMIm]+ and [BMIm]+ are 0.71 and 0.70, respectively.
