UV spectroscopy and HPLC combined with chemometrics for rapid discrimination and quantification of Curcumae Rhizoma from three botanical origins

•Eleven components in Curcumae Rhizoma were determined simultaneously by HPLC.•The three species of Curcumae Rhizoma were rapidly discriminated by UV and HPLC with chemometrics (DT, LDA, SVM and KNN).•PLS and BP-ANN models were constructed to predict the contents of three chemical chemical component in Curcumae Rhizoma.
