The intermediary role of the central cyclooxygenase / lipoxygenase enzymes in intracerebroventricular injected nesfatin-1-evoked cardiovascular effects in rats

•ICV injection of nesfatin-1 causes a pressor response in normotensive rats.•ICV injection of nesfatin-1 produces a phasic heart rate response.•The central cyclooxygenase pathway completely mediates the cardiovascular effects elicited by nesfatin-1.•The central lipoxygenase pathway partially mediates the cardiovascular effects induced by nesfatin-1.
