摘要

•We develop a KRD index that considers rocks, vegetation, and soil moisture.•We construct a TSFS model to quantify the KRD level in space and time.•Field survey data are combined with evaluation indicators to validate the model.•KRDI is a promising method of extracting information on karst rocky desertification.•The TSFS model can accurately monitor different levels of rocky desertification.
