Effect of Water Impurity in CsLiB6O10 Crystals on UV Optical Properties

We investigated the effect of water impurity in a CsLiB6O10 (CLBO) crystal on the ultraviolet (UV) properties of the bulk laser-induced damage threshold (LIDT). The water impurity was eliminated by heating the CLBO sample with dimensions of 5 times 5 times 10 mm3 at 150degC in ambient atmosphere and subsequently in dry atmosphere. The bulk LIDT of the sample after the heat treatment improved by about 1.6-fold compared with that before the heat treatment.
