Abstract
In this research, panel data and variance analysis were used to study the dynamic changes of the Mu Us sandy land from 2000 to 2015 along with relevant causes. It was found that the forest coverage in the relevant areas of the Mu Us sandy land increased continuously, and the corresponding growth was evident in some social and economic factors. Through a fixed-effects model, it was concluded that there was a remarkable positive correlation between GDP and forest coverage in this region; that is, for every 1% increase in GDP, the forest coverage in this region would increase by 1.876%. In addition, ANOVA showed that policies, including The National Plan for Combating Desertification (2005-2010) and The National Plan for Combating Desertification (2011-2020) also played a significant part in increasing forest coverage.
