Abstract
•Confined subnanometric Pt clusters within Sn-Beta were synthesized by impregnation-reduction.•(Si-O)3(H2O)2Sn(IV)-(O)-[PtCl5]− species sever as the key precursors of Pt clusters less than 1 nm.•Framework Sn coordinated Pt clusters show good stability in PDH at 500 °C.
