摘要

•Quasi-cubic α-Fe2O3 with high-energy facets exposed for highly accurate and reliable ethanol sensing.•The microstructure was tuned by CTAB, optimizing the electronic transmission path.•The α-Fe2O3 exhibited a response of 35.14–500 ppm ethanol gas with the response and recovery time of 12 s and 41 s, respectively.
