Abstract
•A novel carrageenan fiber-CAF-K,Al were prepared by wet spinning process.•The LOI value of CAF-K,Al was about 38 and its breaking strength was 1.25 cN/dtex.•The mechanical and flame retardancy of CAF-K,Al was deduced.•The effect of trivalent metal ion-Al3+ on the structure of CAF-K,Al was speculated.
