A refined design concept for sulfur-tolerant Pd catalyst supported on zeolite by shape-selective exclusion and hydrogen spillover for hydrogenation of aromatics
Journal of Catalysis(2021)
Abstract
Sulfur tolerance of hybrid catalysts was investigated for hydrogenation of tetralin in the presence of 100 ppmw sulfur as benzothiophene. Tetralin conversions over hybrid catalysts, particularly SiO2-Pd/KA+Pd/HY, were significantly higher than that with Pd/HY catalyst alone. SiO2-Pd/KA in hybrid catalyst maintained high activity with over 90% conversion after 14 h TOS while that with Pd/HY alone dropped to below 60%.
