•A Euro 6d-TEMP GDI car was fed by four blends of petrol and renewable components.•The tested renewable components were bioethanol, bionaphtha, bio-ETBE, and methanol.•Exhaust emissions compliant with Euro 6 (WLTC tests) and Not-To-Exceed (RDE tests) limits.•Blending petrol, ethanol, and bionaphtha reduces CO2 emissions and fuel consumption.•On the road (RDE) tests: higher NOx, CO2, and fuel consumption; lower CO, THC, CH4, and PN.
