The approach to the inclusion of deaf people has traditionally been focused on a dichotomous attitude whose origins have equivalence with the known discussion, between the individual model of disability and the social model. In the specific case of deaf population, this dichotomy is expressed in two perspectives: one that focuses on hearing impairment, and that which focus it as a population with diverse abilities.
