Optimization and machinability analysis of chromium composite

Abstract Last few years, the research work on Electron Beam Machining (EBM) is increasing with different materials. This process is suitable for drill holes with different sizes and less heat affected zone. Thermal energy is produced through repeated pulses of electrons with short duration. The melt and vaporization takes place on the spot of holes only. The outer surface of the holes does not affect. The boron carbide based chromium composite is processed under EBM process. The process input factors such as voltage, frequency and electrons speed are optimized through Taguchi method. The various graph and charts are used to correlate the input and output process factors.
