Deep eutectic solvent in separation and preconcentration of organic and inorganic species

Abstract Today, as an environmentally friendly process with unique properties, green extraction technology has widespread interest. In this regard, a new series of solvents called deep eutectic solvents (DES) have been developed as a promising tool. Compared with traditional organic solvents, DES has attracted much attention due to its nontoxic, biodegradable properties, low cost and ease of preparation. DES is used as an extraction solvent for food, biological and environmental sample analysis. Here, we focus on the preparation of DES and its unique properties. In addition, this chapter covers the application of DES in preconcentration and separation.
