Frequency selectivity in the modulation domain estimated using forward masking: Effects of masker modulation depth and masker-signal delay

•Forward masking in the amplitude-modulation (AM) domain was assessed.•Masking patterns showed tuning in the AM domain that was not affected by signal delay.•AM forward masking decayed with increasing delay but was still present after 160 ms.•Reducing the masker AM depth from 1 to 0.25 had no significant effect.
