Abstract
Provided is a new process for using organic guanidine catalysis melt/solid polycondensation (MP-SSP) to synthesize poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT). The method employs a highly effective ternary catalytic system constituted by organic guanidine, a promoter 1, and a promoter 2; by means of MP-SSP coupling technology, high-molecular-weight PBAT is synthesized. The beneficial features of the present invention are: highly efficient catalysis, short polymerization reaction time, and high polymer molecular weight; furthermore, the synthesis of the product PBAT may be controlled according to actual demands so that its molecular weight is within a range of 1.55×105 to 2.40×105; the product molecular weight distribution index (PDI) is narrow (1.50-1.90) and the product color is good (white); the process flow is simplified and production operation is safe, such that it is readily implemented on a large industrial scale.
