Abstract
O objetivo deste estudo e analisar a ocorrencia e as caracteristicas da sindrome de burnout entre servidores pubicos federais de uma instituicao de ensino da Regiao Norte do Brasil. O metodo na forma de survey, utilizou tecnicas multivariadas para o tratamento dos dados. O instrumento de pesquisa foi o Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI-GS), que mostrou niveis elevados de validade convergente e discriminante, evidenciando boa qualidade psicometrica. A analise de agrupamentos formou dois grupos diferentes entre si. O primeiro com 53% dos entrevistados, apresentou elevacao da exaustao emocional, da despersonalizacao e reducao da eficacia profissional, o que nao ocorreu com o segundo grupo. Esse resultado indica presenca da sindrome e recomenda acoes para evitar seu agravamento. As conclusoes destacam a necessidade de reforcar recursos pessoais e organizacionais para mitigar o estresse organizacional. BURNOUT SYNDROME AND EDUCATION: A STUDY ABOUT EMPLOYEES AT A PUBLIC UNIVERSITY IN NORTHERN BRAZIL This study aims to analyze the burnout syndrome occurrence and its characteristics among civil servants in a federal educational institution in northern Brazil. The survey method was used and multivariate techniques for data treatment were applied. The research tool was the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI-GS), which showed high levels of convergent and discriminant validity, showing good psychometric quality. Cluster analysis resulted in two different groups. The first group was composed of 53% of employees interviewed who showed high level of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced professional effectiveness, which had not occurred in the second group. Results of this study indicate the occurrence of the burnout syndrome, so actions to prevent its worsening are recommended, highlighting the need to reinforce personal and organizational resources to mitigate organizational stress.
