On hydrogen adsorption by nanodispersed MoS2-based catalysts

摘要
•Hydrogen adsorption on MoS2-based catalysts was studied by inelastic neutron scattering (INS) and density functional theory.•A novel edge state was evidenced, containing coexisting disulfide and SH groups.•Independent of treatment and promotion with a second metal, a similar type of SH groups prevails.•A novel INS feature was detected and explained by SH group interactions with adjacent species.
