Overview of 10 years of practice with CACIPLIQ20® matrix therapy as a healing agent for hard to heal wounds: Efficacy, cost-effectiveness and future perspectives

•Overview of matrix therapy agent CACIPLIQ20® used as last resort for chronic wounds.•119 healed wounds were evaluated to assess healing time with CACIPLIQ20® treatment.•Wound types included diabetic foot ulcers, burns, post-amputation/surgical wounds.•Complete healing was achieved in 2 months regardless of wound size, age or etiology.•CACIPLIQ®20 treatment was cost-effective costing 74 euros/64 GBP per wound.•Marked pain relief as a consequence of healing was also reported.
