Method for preparing aluminum titanate-mullite composite porous ceramic from fly ash

The invention discloses a method for synthesizing a new material aluminum titanate-mullite composite porous ceramic material mainly from industrial waste slag fly ash in order to meet the requirementsof comprehensive reasonable utilization of fly ash. The fly ash, pseudo-boehmite and titanium dioxide are used as main raw materials, iron oxide in the fly ash is fully used as a modifier for preventing decomposition of aluminum titanate, the powder raw materials undergo direct wet-ball milling, and then are dried, a green body is formed through a starch solidification technology, and the green body is sintered to prepare the aluminum titanate-mullite composite porous ceramic material. The pore size of the aluminum titanate-mullite composite porous ceramic material is uniform, is about 10 [mu]m and is easy to control, the porosity is about 41-61%, the flexural strength is about 11-44 MPa, and the material also has good thermal stability and chemical stability, and can be used in carrier materials for ceramic filter supports, industrial high-temperature flue gas filtration and vehicle exhaust purification treatment.
