Implementation and acceptance rates of a specially designed vacuometer for the vacuum bell treatment of pectus excavatum.

•Pectus excavatum treatment with vacuum bell conveys risk of skin lesions.•Protocols of gradual increase in negative pressure are used to decrease this risk.•A vacuometer for the measurement of negative pressure by the patients is reported.•It has a high patient satisfaction rate.•No patients presented skin lesions in this series when using the vacuometer.
