The emerging norms of e-cigarette use among adolescents: A meta-ethnography of qualitative evidence

•Synthesis of 13 qualitative studies on adolescent e-cigarette use from 2013–2019.•We identified a spectrum of descriptive and injunctive norms of vaping.•Injunctive norms were held by different groups that approved or disapproved of vaping.•The norms were fluid, diverse and sometimes contradictory.
