Association of neighborhood greenness exposure with cardiovascular diseases and biomarkers

•Higher neighborhood greenness may have a beneficial effect on the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases.•Higher neighborhood greenness could be beneficial with respect to pulse pressure.•The associations were still significant when using different buffers for greenness or with a selected adjustment set.•Road proximity partially mediated the observed association between greenness and PP.
