Prehospital aortic blood flow control techniques for non-compressible traumatic hemorrhage
Injury(2021)
Abstract
•The paper reviewed three techniques for prehospital control of non-compressible hemorrhage, including EAC, AAJT, and REBOA.•EAC can be easily used at no cost, but its use during transport is challenging and may result in complications.•Compared with EAC, AAJT and REBOA can be used for a wider range of torso injuries.•AAJT and REBOA have comparable efficacy, but they should be used for a limited time (<1hr).•Compared with EAC and AAJT, REBOA is invasive and requires intensive and continuous training.
