Abstract
This work exposes the analog circuit design problem and presents a representation mechanism for its automatic design using evolutionary computing tools. To show the flexibility and potentiality of our proposal, examples of the coding of three circuits are included, among them are a fourth order Butterworth low pass filter and a third order Chebyshev low pass filter. Using these examples, it is shown that the mechanism is very compact, that it simultaneously encodes topology and size of circuit elements, and that it is capable of handling commercially available device values, reducing discrepancies between evolvable designed and physically implemented circuits.
