Highly sensitive electrochemical sensor for tyrosine detection using a sub-millimeter electrode

•Electrochemical sensor using graphene hybrid acetylene black paste electrode was constructed.•The advantages and disadvantages between 0.8 mm and 3 mm electrode were compared.•Electrochemical behaviors of tyrosine were studied on the submillimeter 0.8 mm electrode.•It could serve for highly sensitive nanomolar tyrosine detection in foodstuffs.
