Study of thermally induced phase transformations and microstructural changes in porous MoO3 nanostructures for the design of tribological additives
Materials Letters(2021)
Abstract
•Thermal evolution of MoO3 nanostructures between 30 and 455 °C is reported.•Monoclinic MoO3 follows dehydration, and Mo4O11 appears at higher temperatures.•Amorphous matrix crystallizes and is partially reduced, forming the suboxide.•Thermal and chemical processes affect phase and microstructure behavior of MoO3.
