Abstract
Introduction: Chronic anaemia in liver disease is often a diagnostic challenge because of a multifactorial contribution of several factors. We discuss a case of spur cells anaemia, a rare form of haemolytic anaemia typically associated with end-stage liver cirrhosis with poor outcome in absence of the only aetiological therapy, which is liver transplantation (LT).
