Direct gas phase synthesis of amorphous Si/C nanoparticles as anode material for lithium ion battery

摘要
•Amorphous silicon particles with a carbon concentration gradient have been synthesized in a one-step process.•Kinetic data was used to tune the process towards materials with a desired carbon content and primary particles size (around 150 nm), advantageous for utilization as anode material in lithium ion batteries.•The process is scalable to production scale.
