Bidirectional DC/DC converter based on the Model Predictive Control method: Application to the Battery

摘要
To solve the battery voltage instability and the system's power imbalance problem, which mainly caused by uncertainty in DC microgrid and load fluctuations, the mode-activated finite set model predictive control (MPC) algorithm for bidirectional DC/DC converter (Bi-DCC) is proposed. This control strategy's primary purpose is to maintain the battery side voltage within the expected value range. After the prefer limitation values of the fluctuation range for the battery's upper and lower voltage is set, the converter can be operated flexible between the buck operation and boost operation modes based on the real-time battery voltage through the using of the designed MPC module. The proposed control method is validated can quickly and stabilized the battery side voltage value reaches the pre-set limation values through the simulations.
