Optimum detailed design of 13,000 m3 oil storage tanks using 0.8 height-diameter ratio

摘要
This study deals with the detailed design of 13,000 m3 oil storage tank using height-diameter ratio of 0.8. The nominal diameter and nominal height was estimated to be 26.76 m and 23.1 m respectively. The jumbo plate material used was G40.21 M grade 260 W which was 2.1 m wide. 1-Foot method was adopted for the design of tank shell and based on the available width of the jumbo plate; eleven (11) courses were obtained for the designed tank. ? 2021 Elsevier Ltd.
