Abstract
Passive radar receiver using array sensors typically employs digital filter bank (FB) for channelization of wideband input signals. Low-complexity architecture with flexible narrow transition bandwidth (NTB) becomes the key requirement of hardware implementation on single hardware processor in passive radar receiver using array sensors. According to the requirement of narrow transition bandwidth filter bank (NTBFB), an improved low-complexity architecture with flexible NTB of passive radar receiver using frequency response masking filter bank (FRMFB) is proposed in this paper. The M -channel, odd arrangement and maximally decimated architecture is designed by replacing prototype filter with FRM filter. The conventional architecture based on FRM is often limited by sampling rate to have to be applied to low sampling rate system. The high sampling rate receiver adopts the constructed architecture. The simulation test shows that the proposed framework-based on FRMFB has strong execution ability. The proposed architecture can be applied to 38 % of the polyphase filter bank (PPFB) and 91.4% of the low-pass filter bank (LPFB), which can reduce its complexity. The proposed improved maximally decimated architecture is suitable for implementation on single hardware processor in passive radar receiver using array sensors.
