Development and comparison of direct immersion solid phase micro extraction Arrow-GC-MS for the determination of selected pesticides in water

•Solid phase microextraction Arrow is a suitable choice for trace determination of pesticides.•The extraction device is mechanically sturdier than classical SPME fibers.•SPME Arrow showed better sensitivity due to the enhanced sorbent volume.•Satisfying results obtained for different classes of pesticides in real water samples.
