Abstract
•DM density was much higher in bunkers than in round bales.•Total DM losses were 17 % and 7 % in bunkers and bales, respectively.•Silage DM intake index was higher for bale than bunker silage.•Aerobic stability was higher in bunker than bale silage.•With wet crops, higher acid dosages seem necessary for bunkers than for bales.
