摘要

•Brain maturation continues well into adulthood, but little is known of the effects of MPH on cognitive development.•Boys and men with ADHD were randomized to either MPH or placebo; cognition was evaluated before and one-week after treatment.•The results show effects of MPH on cognition are limited to the moment of treatment in both ADHD boys and men.•The lack of detrimental lasting effects could be consoling.
