Recovering from the Impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic and Accelerating to Achieving the United Nations General Assembly Tuberculosis Targets

•Following the 2018 UN High Level Meeting on Tuberculosis there was good progress.•In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted tuberculosis prevention and care services.•In high burden countries progress on tuberculosis was set back by several years.•Three actions are needed: recovery; increased financing; and building back better.•High level political commitment is critical to ensure these actions.
