Self-limited epilepsy of childhood with affective seizures: A well-defined epileptic syndrome?

•Affective seizures with focal spikes represent a self-limited epilepsy syndrome in childhood.•Clinical manifestations of the other self-limited epilepsies of childhood may coexist.•All patients responded well to antiseizure medications.•Recognition of this electro-clinical presentation is important for diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis.
