1916年11月29日我出生在河南开封.据说祖父是个农村木匠,会细木工.我父亲因祖父有手艺,所以还能念书,十八九岁中了秀才,后来流落开封(原籍是项城),在北仓女中(开封最早的私立女子学校)当斋夫,既是守门人,又是清洁工兼宿舍监督.后来学校董事长聘他为教员.但父亲不死心,继续北上求学,进了保定甲等政法学堂学法律.回开封后,他做过一任法院书记官,后来做县法院法官(当时称承审员).我就出生在这样一个家庭.
