A Rapid Resolution Liquid Chromatography-Collision Energy Correlated Mass Spectrometric Method For Analysis Of Degradation Products From Drugs

This paper described the development of a collision energy correlated mass spectrometric (MSE) method combined with data mining tools for the analysis of degradation products from drugs using rapid resolution liquid chromatography. tandem mass spectrometry (RRLC-MS/MS). Based on the high separation ability of RRLC and full scan of MS analysis, MSE was developed to generate product ion spectrum without precursor ion selecting. Mixture of drug degradation products was separated by RRLC, and then the eluate was analyzed by MS with collision energy switching to acquire both of molecule ions and product ions. Mass defect filter (MDF) was used to discover drug degradation products from raw data. Therefore, the relative quantity and structure information of drug degradation products were obtained. The proposed method has been demonstrated as an effective tool for the impurity profiling and drug quality control.
