Abstract
The progress in non-classical antitumor platinum drugs are reviewed. These potential drugs include orally active platinum( IV ) complexes, sterically hindered platinum( II ) complexes, trans-platinum( II, IV ) complexes, multinuclear platinum( II ) complexes and sulphur-containing platinum( II ) complexes. Their antitumor mechanisms, advantages overcoming cisplatin resistance and clinical trials are summarized.
