根据国家海洋局南海档案馆的华南沿海验潮站潮位资料、美国科罗拉多大学2013年1月21日公布的卫星观测海面高度距平(△MSL)资料,分析华南沿海、南海及全球海平面变化特征,得出近33年华南沿海的平均海平面上升率为2.8 mm/年,近20年南海与全球海洋的海平面呈准同步变化趋势,南海的海平面上升率为5.64 mm/年.
