以第56届岩石物理学家和测井分析家协会(SPWLA)年会125篇学术交流论文和产品展示为基础,通过归纳分析,对近1年来地层评价及测井技术最新的研究和进展进行了介绍与总结,包括常规储层测井与评价、非常规储层测井与评价、碳酸盐岩储层研究、大斜度/水平井测井与评价以及先进的录井和实时决策、裸眼井测井新技术、储层与生产监测技术等方面内容;介绍了第56届SPWLA年会的技术装备展览情况.在此基础上对国际测井技术发展、多学科结合和国内外测井技术差距等方面进行了讨论.
